ETC: Introduction to NEPA

This is an introductory course explaining how to comply with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). We will outline the history of the act, its important components, and provide examples of successful projects. Participants will learn how NEPA planning processes and impact analyses are conducted. We will discuss effective planning strategies, environmental impact analyses, and agency and public engagement. Council on Environmental Quality regulations, agency NEPA procedures, and legal precedents will be discussed along with the importance of interagency relationships and stakeholder communication.
