Jim Wasserbauer, L.P.G., joins CEC Cincinnati as a Principal in our Environmental Engineering and Sciences practice. Jim is a licensed professional geologist in Indiana and has a bachelor’s degree in geology from Wright State University.

Jim has more than 35 years of experience in the Midwestern United States providing environmental technical expertise on complex projects for industrial, commercial, development, government, legal, and private sector clients. He has built and led environmental teams to support clients’ business goals and regulatory compliance objectives, including budget development, subcontractor oversight, project execution, progress tracking, report delivery, and coordination with agencies.

Jim specializes in several environmental programs and practices, including the State of Ohio’s Brownfield Remediation Program, where he focuses on application preparation, budgeting, and project management. He has extensive experience with Ohio’s Voluntary Action Program, handling due diligence, subsurface investigations, remediation efforts, no-further-action submittal support, and urban setting designations. Jim is also skilled in underground storage tank regulatory closures and remedial investigations across Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, and Pennsylvania. Additionally, he has expertise in designing soil, groundwater, and vapor remediation strategies for risk management, utilizing GIS mapping applications, as well as performing 3D data analysis, visualization, and presentation.

Jim served on the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) Greater Cincinnati Chapter’s Board of Directors from 2004 to 2008. During that time, he served as Public Relations Chair and President. Jim also served as an elected official on the Public Affairs Board of Trustees for the Village of Cleves from 1999 to 2015, providing management oversight for the Village’s public water supply.
