CEC’s surveyors and geospatial specialists collaborate with engineering and environmental professionals to streamline the design, permitting, and construction processes by capturing data via land, water, and air. (And we still use tape measures, too!) Our experienced licensed Professional Land Surveyors, FAA-licensed and certified unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) pilots, terrestrial and mobile LiDAR specialists, and bathymetric/hydrographic surveyors can provide topographic, boundary, construction, hydrographic, scanning, and aerial surveys in 3D and 2D formats. Our full complement of technology includes ultra-high-resolution and 360-degree digital cameras, survey-grade GPS units, and watercraft with sonar equipment.

CEC is an industry leader in the development of innovative database applications linked to Geographic Information Systems (GIS), providing a variety of spatial analysis and data management services to clients across many disciplines. We develop and maintain project-specific spatial databases for ecological monitoring, water resource, infrastructure, and related environmental data for many of the industries CEC serves. Our in-house GIS analysts, data managers, and software developers routinely create relational databases, perform spatial analysis, and develop custom mapping products, often working closely with field staff to integrate assessment, monitoring, and other field-derived data.
Accessible, real-time data
In addition, CEC develops and hosts custom web-based GIS applications. Examples include ecological and environmental compliance reporting systems and interactive mapping tools that allow clients to easily access and review compliance results as they are gathered and uploaded into the database. We use ArcGIS products, including desktop and web-based solutions, in conjunction with SQL database technology and other web development tools.

Terry Wright, P.L.S.
As Survey + Geospatial Practice Lead, Mr. Wright leads the efforts in identifying opportunities for expanding our survey services. He provides technical oversight of the practice to include quality assurance and quality control of procedures and work product. Terry promotes and monitors field and office procedures to ensure a high level of consistent work product and service quality across the practice. He also promotes and monitors a comprehensive safety program for the practice.
