CEC Charleston hosted an open house and ribbon-cutting ceremony on Oct. 17, as a celebration of both its staff and its regional presence in the West Virginia capital.
The Charleston office opened earlier this year, joining our other West Virginia locations in Bridgeport and Martinsburg, and expanding our services to our West Virginia state agency clients.

Among the guests present at the afternoon event were members of the Putnam County Development Authority including Executive Director Morganne Tenney and Business Outreach Coordinator Megan Lomax; the Putnam County Commission including President Andy Skidmore; Putnam County Chamber of Commerce members, as well as Chamber President Ashley Alford Glance, who spoke at the event; and the City of Hurricane Mayor Scott Edwards and Assistant City Manager Amanda Ramey.
Other attendees included multiple CEC clients, employees from other CEC West Virginia offices, and various contractors. Rick Lord from HD Media was on hand to capture the sights and sounds of the open house.
“We had a great turnout. It was wonderful to see so many clients, as well as staff from other CEC offices at the event. Everyone I’ve talked to is excited to have a regional office providing the wide range of services that CEC offers,” said David Gilmore, Charleston Interim Office Lead.
CEC Charleston’s services include all aspects of civil/site engineering, construction inspection and oversight, geotechnical engineering, surveying, transportation engineering, water resources, and public sector infrastructure.
