Doug Smith is CEC’s New Corporate Transportation Lead

CEC is pleased to announce Doug Smith, P.E., has been named our Corporate Transportation Lead. Doug joined CEC Pittsburgh earlier this year as a Principal in our Civil Engineering practice. He has more than 38 years of experience as a multimodal transportation engineering professional. 

Doug will be leveraging our many established technical strengths along our national footprint to bring innovative solutions to our public clients in cities, counties, departments of transportation, airports, and more. We have an established team of transportation experts to support him as he transitions into this new role. One of Doug’s goals will be coordinating the business and client development efforts of our transportation market across multiple practices and office locations to expand our transportation opportunities and services company-wide.

Doug specializes in safety projects, long-range and corridor planning, transit, and transportation finance. In his previous roles, he assembled and oversaw project teams to deliver innovative results to clients across the country. Doug also has management experience overseeing highways, traffic engineering, bridge design and inspection, construction inspection, roadways, drainage, and airports. He has a master’s degree in civil engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and a Master of Business Administration in finance from the University of Pittsburgh Katz Graduate School of Business. He is a licensed professional engineer in Kentucky and Pennsylvania.
